Top 10 on Current-Gen: Bioshock

OK.. moving on to number 5. We're officially halfway on out list once we're done with this one. And which one is it? Well, no surprise after you've read the title... but let's pretend you didn't. The game is.... Bioshock.

I had to put a huge picture above just to emphasize how big and scary these guys are. And if you still don't know, those are Big Daddy's and they are scary indeed. In fact, I'll dare say that these guys belong in top 5 best enemies in recent gaming history. It's just the way they're presented and the way you feel about them.. perfect.

Now back to the rest of the game. Bioshock is a spiritual sequel to System Shock and borrows many elements from it, which is not a surprise considering a lot of guys from Bioshock team used to work on System Shock.

The game is a first-person shooter set in a unique world.. a city under the ocean. It's really amazing when you walk trough it for the first time and feel the atmosphere which is unlike anything any ordinary shooter will offer.

Competing with the atmosphere is the graphical side of the game that is pure gold even today. Sound quality is great too and it's all very well complemented by a tight story that might just end up teaching you something about human nature and will certainly evoke emotions in you.

As always, I won't go deep into the story. The gameplay is classic first-person shooter, but it implements elements of stealth and puzzle solving too. This game takes you in, and just like the main character can't just easily go back to the surface, you get stuck in the game and never want to leave.

Recently came out a long awaited sequel called Bioshock Infinite. While very much praised by the critics, in my opinion, it doesn't get to be called equal to the first one. But more on that in another article.

As for this game, a definite recommendation.. and for more of those check out the previous entries on this list:
